He created the sea and the trees and the sky. He created the bugs and mammals and seeds for the soil. When he saw the seas weren’t enough, he created the oceans. When he realised the trees weren’t enough, he created the mountains. When he noticed the sky was not enough, he created the humans. He created Adam and he created Eve. He created emotions; love, hate, sadness, jealousy, revenge. He created death.
But he forgot something. Something important.
He forgot to create the light. Everything was in darkness so without realizing, God created the darkness. So Adam and Eve lived in dark. Not really seeing each other. They did not talk either so the only way of communicating was touching. One tap, hi. Two taps, are you awake? Three taps, I am hungry. Ten fast taps, there is dangerous animal close to us, let’s run.
Then God finally decided to create the light. The Sun. Then the world was filled with light. The seas became light blue and the sky was filled with clouds. The soil drank the sunshine and gave birth to new plants. Animals learned when to sleep and when to hunt. Though at first their eyes were blinded, Adam and Eve could finally really see each other. Adam saw Eve had long hair that touched her back and Adam touched her back. Eve realized he had innocent eyes and saw her eyes in his eyes. And they lived happily ever after.
…
Except, Eve came across to a new struggle. It was light outside until the night but there were times Eve could still not find it. There were times she wanted to crawl under a rock and never leave. There were even times she did not want to tap four times on Adam’s skin. She looked at the sun and felt the darkness. She walked miles and miles to the sea to see the blue but she only saw emptiness. She felt the sky in her stomach and could not eat anything for days. There were times when she saw the birds flying freely in the sky and she wanted to be one. Times she felt the heavy burden of being human. Times she wanted the darkness to swallow her. When she had her first child, she was not even sure if she was ready to be a mother. When she lost her first child, she was not even sure if she could keep breathing.
Eve looked for the light. She looked at the Sun but the brightness hurt her eyes. She searched for it everywhere. As the God forgot the create the light at the first place, Eve forgot to look for the light in the most likely place.
It took her long time to finally discover where to find it.
